Our History
Founded in 1993, Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding began with a simple belief—that the bond between horse and human can transform lives. What started as a small volunteer-led program has grown into a nationally accredited organization serving hundreds of participants each year. For more than three decades, JHTR has provided a safe, inclusive space where individuals of all ages and abilities can build confidence, independence, and connection through the power of horses and the beauty of the Tetons.
1993
Founded by by Robin Lightner, DeDe McDonald, and Elaine Infanger as a grassroots effort to offer adaptive riding in a rural community.
2000
Recognized as a Premier Accredited Center by PATH International.
2013
Expanded programs to include Veteran Equine Therapy.
Today
Proudly serving hundreds of participants annually through multiple therapeutic programs.
