Colleen murray
Past President
As a kid, Colleen enjoyed horseback riding and ballet. After a few unplanned dismounts from her horse, ballet seemed like the safer option. Following her ballet career, she attended college and became a Registered Dietitian. She practiced at Rancho Los Amigos rehab hospital, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. For the last 15 years of her career, she consulted for a private clinic working alongside occupational and physical therapists as part of a “Feeding Team” treating young children, many with special needs.
Colleen and her family moved to Jackson in 2016. She started volunteering with JHTR in 2018 and was hooked! Colleen was asked to join the Board in 2020, and has served for the past 6 years, including as President in 2025. She has enjoyed watching the organization grow and thrive and continues to volunteer whenever possible. She finds it particularly rewarding to volunteer in classes with the same riders who have been participants for several years and watch first hand their growth and development with the help of the wonderful instructors.
Colleen’s husband, John, is an ER physician in Cody and Alpine and an avid skier and climber. She has two sons. Jack, is a Captain in the Marine Corps currently living with his family in St. Louis, MO. Aidan is a mechanical engineer working in Bellevue, WA. Colleen also enjoys expending her “empty nester” energy on Pilates, ballet, Nordic skiing, visiting her granddaughter, Clare, and dog agility classes with her Border Collie, Rory.
