BUILDING LIFE SKILLS

EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING

At Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding, our Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program uses the power of the horse-human connection to teach essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and emotional awareness.

Unlike traditional riding lessons, EAL sessions are ground-based and focus on experiential learning—participants work alongside horses to explore personal growth, social connection, and problem-solving in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Whether it’s a student learning trust and focus, a teen group developing leadership and empathy, or adults building collaboration skills, every EAL experience is designed to help individuals grow with authenticity and confidence.

WHAT IS EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING?

Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) at Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding is an unmounted Equine Assisted Activity that uses guided horse interactions to support educational and personal development goals. Participants work alongside horses on the ground in a structured, supportive environment designed to build essential life skills.

Because horses respond honestly to body language, energy, and intention, participants receive immediate, authentic feedback. Through experiential, ground-based activities, they develop self-awareness, communication, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and confidence.
